Donna
Shipley, B.S.N., R.N.
President and CEO of
Advanced Health
Resources
After extensive
experience in the health services industry in the
US and abroad, Donna Shipley founded
SMARTRAVEL International
Health Services in 1996. Donna
had previously renovated Kaiser Permanente’s
travel clinic in the mid-1990s, and had practiced as
a registered nurse in the US and Europe. This experience
gave her a vital understanding of the complexities
of health needs for travelers to foreign countries,
and led to the recognition that a niche existed for
a business that would better serve these travelers
with quality service.
Her
concept of quality service that is both convenient
and highly
efficient soon broadened, leading to the
formation of a multifaceted health company – ADVANCED
Health Resources – in 1999.
While SMARTRAVEL continues to provide superior travel
health services under the
ADVANCED Health Resources banner, ADVANCED
Health Resources also provides a broad range of occupational health
services including physical examinations for immigration,
the Department of Transportation, camp, students, and
sports; on-site visits for flu clinics and health fairs;
substance and drug abuse testing; and blood testing
for health screenings.
